Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will renew their rivalry at FNB Stadium on Saturday, with both Soweto giants chasing victory and the bragging rights that come with winning South African football’s biggest derby.
The Betway Premiership clash is scheduled to kick off at 3.30pm at FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, with gates opening at 10am.

The match is already sold out, with no tickets available at the stadium. Supporters without valid tickets have been urged to make alternative arrangements to watch the fixture.

This year’s derby will also form part of the Premier Soccer League’s 30th anniversary celebrations, with French football legend Thierry Henry expected to attend.
The former Arsenal and France striker is set to join supporters at the stadium, adding an international dimension to an occasion that remains a major fixture on the domestic football calendar.
Both teams head into Saturday’s encounter following convincing victories in the Carling Knockout.
Chiefs defeated TS Galaxy 3-0 on Tuesday, with Wandile Duba scoring a hat-trick to secure their place in the quarter-finals.
Pirates also advanced after beating Milford FC 3-0, setting up the derby with both sides having recorded identical scorelines in their respective cup fixtures.
The results have added to the anticipation surrounding Saturday’s meeting, although derby encounters often produce results that defy recent form.

For Chiefs, the challenge will be to carry their midweek performance into a fixture in which expectations from supporters remain high.
Pirates, meanwhile, will be looking to build on their cup victory and secure a result against their fiercest rivals.
Beyond the three league points, the derby carries significant bragging rights for supporters of both clubs, with the outcome likely to dominate conversations at workplaces, family gatherings and on social media.
The rivalry also extends beyond the stadium, with supporters expected to gather at pubs, restaurants and other viewing venues to follow the match.
With tickets sold out and a capacity crowd expected, supporters attending the fixture have been urged to plan their journeys and arrive early.
Traffic restrictions will be implemented around the FNB Stadium precinct from 10am, while motorists have been advised to familiarise themselves with designated parking areas and access arrangements.
Public transport and park-and-ride services, including Rea Vaya and Gautrain shuttle services, are among the transport options announced for matchday.

Supporters have also been warned against purchasing counterfeit tickets or travelling to the stadium without valid tickets, as no tickets will be sold at the venue.
Security screening and stadium access procedures are expected to add to arrival times, making early travel advisable.
When the teams take to the pitch on Saturday afternoon, the focus will shift from the predictions and build-up to the contest itself.
With both sides coming off 3-0 cup victories and a sold-out stadium expected, the latest instalment of the Soweto Derby promises another fiercely contested encounter.
For the winning side, victory will bring more than three league points. It will also deliver the bragging rights that supporters of Pirates and Chiefs will be keen to hold on to long after the final whistle.
