NORTH West Premier Job Mokgoro has tested positive for COVID-19, according to provincial authorities on Tuesday evening.
This comes after the death of North West COGTA MEC Gordon Kegakilwe.
Kegakilwe died on Monday following a short illness related to COVID-19 complications.
Mokgoro also announced in the virtual Special Provincial Executive Council (EXCO) meeting held on Tuesday that he has tested positive for Covid-19 and is effectively in self-isolation.
According to the statement issued by the North West government, Mokgoro took the test on Monday, following the death of MEC Kegakilwe who had contracted the virus before passing away.
“However, premier Mokgoro is not incapacitated to carry out his duties as he was only presented with only one symptom – which is cough – although he tested positive.
