ARSENAL completed their transfer business on deadline day with the £45million signing of Thomas Partey and Mikel Arteta will now look to continue the feel-good factor around the Emirates.

The Gunners had already added Willian from Chelsea and Gabriel from Lille, but finally strengthened their midfield with the signing of the Ghana international.

Arsenal are now said to be looking to offload Mesut Ozil, with the hierarchy willing to pay up part of his contract so he can join another club for nothing now.

The German playmaker is said to have rejected a £5m move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr and is ‘hopeful’ of playing for Arteta again.

Mesut Ozil is ‘hopeful’ of playing for Arsenal again, according to ESPN.

The German midfielder has not played under Mikel Arteta since March and is yet to make a matchday squad this season.

And Ozil is even said to have rejected a £5million move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger has backed Arsenal to achieve more than a top four finish this season.

He said: “I think there is a good team spirit and they have a good chance to do well. I believe it will not be very difficult to improve on the number of points they got last season.

“But I’m convinced Arsenal can be in the top four, if not more. Why not more? They can be the surprise package for me this year: they bought well, they strengthened the defence well.”
