Former State-Owned Enterprise CEOs Brian Molefe, Siyabonga Gama, and Lucky Montana were sworn in as Umkhonto WeSizwe Party Members of Parliament (MPs).

Newly-appointed MK Party national organiser, Floyd Shivambu, took to social network X and said the comrades who will be sworn in parliament on Wednesday on behalf of the party are a clear and emphatic demonstration that MK is serious about an alternate revolutionary government and quality public representation.

The three former SEO CEOs were cited in State Capture allegations during their tenure at Eskom, Transnet and Prasa.

However Molefe, who went on to become the CEO of power utility Eskom, is also credited for having put measures in place to stop load shedding in 2015.

At Eskom, Molefe was also highly regarded by some trade unions like Numsa, for challenging companies that benefited from the utility by having contracts that stretched on for over 40-years including mining company Glencore.

The three former CEOs will join other transformation advocates as MPs, such as Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane and former Judge President of the Western Cape Dr John Hlophe.

The following UMkhonto Wesizwe Party members were also sworn in as members of parliament.

  1. Thembisile Siboniso Mjadu
  2. Nompumelelo Matilda Gasa
  3. Gezani Eric Kobane
  4. Thulani Innocent Gamede
  5. Mzwanele Manyi
