The BeyGOOD Impact Fund is offering $5,000 grants to families in the US facing evictions.

THE singer-songwriter’s Impact Fund launched through the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and her foundation BeyGOOD in July, will offer 100 grants up to $5,000 to those in need of housing assistance, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Families and individuals facing eviction or foreclosures can apply until Jan. 15, and the fund will accept a second round of applications in February.

What to Know

COVID-19 doesn’t respect national boundaries. As long as it exists anywhere it is a threat everywhere.

Global solidarity isn’t just the right thing to do. It’s also the fastest and most effective way to defeat the virus.

Take the quiz to find out more about how we can end this pandemic for good.

“This holiday season while many are stressed with what they will do next regarding their housing, we are proud to share some GOOD news,” BeyGOOD said in a statement released in December when the fund first announced the initiative.

Knowles-Carter was quick to use her platform to shine a light on how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting Black people. She highlighted the coronavirus’ disproportionate impact on the Black community during Global Citizen’s One World: Together At Home broadcast in April. BeyGOOD also teamed up with NAACP in July to help over 250 small Black-owned businesses with $10,000 grants.

“The NAACP is committed to helping ensure African Americans maintain their wealth and financial security during this unprecedented time of COVID-19,” the NAACP said in a statement.

Households of color have been hit hardest by the financial impacts of the pandemic. While homelessness and housing insecurity are on the rise among all groups, a survey conducted by the Social Policy Institute at Washington University in St. Louis found that housing hardships have increased significantly for Black and Latinx households.

The housing assistance grants are only one of BeyGOOD’s several pandemic response efforts. The foundation has also supported organizations working to provide people with basic needs, household supplies, COVID-19 testing, and mental health resources.

“Beyoncé is continuing her heart of support and helping where needed most,” BeyGOOD said in its statement.
