Eastern Cape police have launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of celebrated boxing champion Zolani “Last Born” Tete.
The 38‑year‑old was gunned down outside his home in Mdantsane on Friday evening.
The shooting occurred around 6:30 pm when armed suspects accosted Tete.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Tete’s manager, Mlandeli Tengimfene, reportedly confirmed the boxer’s death, describing it as a devastating loss for South African boxing.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with investigations underway.
