Former head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), Andrea Johnson, and former Crime Intelligence Major-General Feroz Khan were arrested on Friday in connection with allegations of defeating the ends of justice.
The pair are expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Amanda van Wyk said the matter dated back to 2018.
The arrests arise from allegations that surfaced during proceedings at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, where evidence suggested that Johnson unlawfully accessed and shared a confidential South African Police Service (SAPS) criminal case docket with Khan in 2018.

According to testimony before the commission, the docket concerned an assault and intimidation complaint lodged against Khan by fellow police officer Brigadier Leonora Phetlhe.
Investigators allege that the disclosure gave Khan an unfair advantage by allowing him to review Phetlhe’s account of events before being formally questioned by investigators. The information allegedly enabled him to prepare a warning statement in advance of his official interview.
Police have not yet disclosed whether additional charges could follow as investigations continue.
