EFF’s CIC Julius Malema has called on members to read books and not be like ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula.
“You comrades must say , Ba ka mphala ka moka eseng Fikile Mbalula who doesn’t read , he got no time for himself”.
Mbalula was said to have incorrectly reported on X that the IEC has confirmed that there were 2.9 million newly-registered votes after last week’s voter registration period.
Then the President of the EFF Students Command (EFFSC), Sihle Lonzi, corrected Mbalula on X by saying, “There are five hundred and sixty-eight thousand (568,374) newly registered voters as confirmed by the IEC, not 2.9 MILLION registered to vote.”
Malema took a jibe at Mbalula while addressing the party’s ground forces at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego just outside Polokwane in Limpopo on Saturday.
“Don’t read to remember, don’t read to memorise but read to understand but if you don’t read anything this brain won’t have anything to remember … and if you can’t read a book at least read the bible at least read something”.
He also added that next year’s general elections will be important just like the first democratic elections in 1994 and said he is confident the EFF will lead the government in several provinces after the elections.
“This election is going to be the most important election in the lives of South Africans since 1994. And this election has the potential of ushering in every little opportunity that was missed in 1994.
“The EFF will be the government here in Limpopo, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, North West and all over South Africa,” said Malema.
