FORMER Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba received bags of money stuffed with bank notes at the ‘infamous’ Gupta residence in Saxonwold, Johannesburg.
This was revealed by his ex-wife, Norma Mngoma, during an exclusive interview with eNCA on Thursday night.
“I found him there with the Guptas. They used to give him a lot of money. He told me he did favours for them and that’s why they gave him the money. It was a lot of cash most of the time. Some he used to build his house, finance his lifestyle and paid for his sister who was broke. He gave her R850 000. They (Guptas) were always there to help him financially,” said Mngoma.
Asked whether he was part of a conspiracy to murder her former husband, Mngoma laughed raucously, before inferring that it was a figment of his imagination.
“He’s lying. There’s no one who wants to kill him. I think it’s just in his head. He is driving himself most of the time and doesn’t look someone who is concerned about his life. We used to go to Sandton without security,” said Mngoma.
A few months ago, Mngoma was arrested by the Hawks after damaging a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, which her husband was using at the time and was not the owner of.
She was charged with alleged domestic violence, assault, malicious damage to property, and crime injuria, and her arrest was highly controversial.
She was also accused of being involved in a ‘conspiracy to murder’ her estranged husband, but she and her legal team fully reject these accusations.
On Thursday, Gigaga wrote on his Twitter account that he would be responding to Mngoma’s allegations on eNCA.
“To Whom It May Concern Please note that I shall not be commenting on any aspect of the Moja Love TV audition which will be airing on eNCA at 18h00, tonight. My energy is exclusively reserved for my fight with the Askaris who are the de facto puppet masters,” he tweeted.
