Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie has announced additional safety and emergency transport measures for patrons attending the Scorpion Kings concert at FNB Stadium in Soweto on Saturday night.
The Scorpion Kings LIVE concert, headlined by Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, is expected to draw more than 70,000 music fans and features more than 50 supporting artists.
The lineup includes Ami Faku, Amaroto, Aymos, Blxckie, Bontle Smith, Busiswa, Busta 929, Daliwonga, Dladla Mshunqisi, Focalistic, Kamo Mphela, Lady Du, LeeMckrazy, Madumane, MaWhoo, Mr JazziQ, Msaki, Nasty C, Njelic, Nkosazana Daughter, Pcee, Ringo Madlingozi, Scotts Maphuma, Toss, Tman Xpress, Young Stunna and Dlala Thukzin.
The intervention by the arts and culture department follows recent reports of the abduction and murder of women and young girls and is aimed at addressing risks faced by patrons who may remain in or around the stadium precinct late at night
