Former National Treasury deputy director-general Tshepiso Moahloli has been appointed as the director-general of the New Development Bank (NDB) Africa region, following an international recruitment process.
In her new role, Moahloli will lead the Bank’s African regional operations, focusing on project origination, preparation and implementation supervision. She will also serve as the primary liaison between the bank and key project stakeholders.
The National Treasury said that the NDB, which has been in existence for 10 years, has approved 15 projects in South Africa amounting to US$7.3 billion. They focus on addressing infrastructure needs in important sectors such as water, energy, transport and logistics networks.
Moahloli previously served as the deputy director-general for asset and liability management at the National Treasury, where she gained over a decade of experience in operational and strategic leadership in debt management, risk management and stakeholder relations.
