In a leadership shakeup, the African Transformation Movement (ATM) has appointed Caesar Nongqunga as its new president, as part of a new phase of leadership and community-focused engagement for the party.
ATM spokesperson Zama Ntshona made the announcement on Monday, following a decision by the party’s national executive committee (NEC) to separate the responsibilities of political advocacy and organisational leadership.
“Professor Nongqunga is not only a leader but also a beacon of hope for many. His commitment to establishing true democracy and holistic liberation encompasses the creation of a conducive environment for physical, psychological, social, socio-economic, and spiritual growth for citizens,” Ntshona said.
Nongqunga, who is a seasoned religious leader and community development advocate, succeeds founding president Vuyolwethu Zungula, who has led the ATM since its establishment in 2018.
