The Patriotic Alliance (PA) is set launch is Manifesto ahead of the Local Government Elections at the beginning of November at the Dr Petrus Molemela stadium in Bloemfontein and its deputy president and City of Johannesburg MMC for Transport Kenny Kunene launched a blistering attack on illegal immigrants and Democratic Alliance (DA) Johannesburg mayoral candidate Helen Zille.

In an interview with the SABC, Kunene described the PA as a “party of hope” and one that delivers “God’s promise” of service delivery. Kunene identified illegal immigrants as a key concern for voters, noting that uncontrolled presence lead to overcrowding in hospitals and public schools, but provided no statistics or evidence to support the claim.

Kunene, accused the DA of hypocrisy for criticising the PA for being in alliance with the ANC in the City of Johannesburg, pointing out that the DA was in coalition with the ANC nationally in the Government of National Unity (GNU) and was “begging” to be part of government in Gauteng, where the ANC has thus far resisted.
Kunene attacked Zille, who he accused of “coming out of retirement” to contest Joburg Mayorship “just to disrupt” the PA’s growth and programme.
He accused Zille of “only talking about” him and no other mayoral candidate. Kunene also stated that “ for Helen Zille, coloured and black people are a means to an end” for the DA to get in power only o service white and affluent communities and ignore them.
PA Presdeint and Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie will deliver the keynote address.
