The price of both grades of petrol will decrease by 52 cents per litre from Wednesday, while diesel and illuminating paraffin will become more expensive, the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources has announced.
Petrol 93 and 95 will decrease by 52c/l from 5 August, while 0.05% sulphur diesel will increase by 138.44c/l and 0.005% sulphur diesel by 123.44c/l.
The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will rise by 152c/l, while its Single Maximum National Retail Price will increase by 203c/l.
The maximum retail price of liquefied petroleum gas will decrease by 441c/kg nationally and by 503c/kg in the Western Cape.
The department said the adjustments were driven by a combination of international oil and petroleum-product prices, the rand-dollar exchange rate and a reduction in the Slate Levy.
