March and March founder Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has accused the South African government of lacking the political will and capacity to tackle illegal immigration, saying authorities have failed to enforce existing immigration laws.
Speaking to News24 Australia (formerly Sky News Australia) on Wednesday, Ngobese-Zuma defended her movement while distancing it from recent violent incidents in parts of Johannesburg, saying the unrest reflected growing public anger rather than the actions of the March and March movement or its supporters
“The government doesn’t have a backbone,” she said.

“South Africans have been raising concerns about illegal immigration for years, but those concerns have been ignored.”
Her remarks come weeks after nationwide demonstrations on 30 June, during which activists called on government to halt the processing of new refugee applications and intensify the deportation of undocumented foreign nationals.
