A second senior official from Ekurhuleni Municipality was arrested on Sunday morning on charges of fraud, corruption and defeating the ends of justice, police said.
The arrest of the 40-year-old suspect, who wasn’t named, comes after the suspended deputy chief of the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department, Julius Mkhwanazi, was arrested on Saturday morning, on charges of fraud, corruption, and defeating the ends of justice.
Both suspects will appear before the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said.
