Matlala appeared briefly at the court, where proceedings were postponed to 13 May.

The State requested that he stay in custody to allow prosecutors more time to respond to outstanding defence submissions and consider fresh representations linked to one of his co-accused.
The matter involves five accused facing 25 charges, ranging from fraud and money laundering to multiple counts of attempted murder.
Defence teams argued that key documents have not yet been disclosed, stalling progress toward a pre-trial hearing.
Matlala, previously transferred to Kokstad’s Ebongweni Super Maximum Correctional Centre late last year, had challenged that move in the Johannesburg High Court, citing difficulties in consulting with his legal team.
