On Tuesday, a massive outage disrupted access to popular platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), ChatGPT, Canva, among others.

In a brief statement, Cloudflare said that it was aware of the problem and was working on it.

“Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which impacts multiple customers: Widespread 500 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API also failing. We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly,” the company said in a statement.

Cloudflare, a leading internet infrastructure provider, reported internal service degradation that led to widespread errors and downtime across the globe.

The company reports an internal service degradation that has led to intermittent failures across its global network.

Frozen feeds, inaccessible dashboards, and errors for some users were some of the results users received, as they were met with frustration.

While Cloudfare has indicated it is fixing issues, getting things back to normal may take some time, according to numerous online reports.

According to Deccan Chronicle, Cloudflare underpins much of the modern internet. Its services include content delivery networks (CDNs), DDoS protection, and traffic routing.

This means that when Cloudflare experiences technical issues, entire websites depending on its infrastructure can go dark simultaneously.

What is Cloudflare?

It’s a U.S.-based internet infrastructure company that provides services like reverse proxying, CDN acceleration, and cybersecurity. It acts as a shield and accelerator for websites to ensure they load faster and remain secure.
