Former President Jacob Zuma and top National Prosecuting Authority
officials were on the payroll of Bosasa, according to an affidavit by former
Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi.

The Sunday Times reported on Sunday that Agrizzi will reveal this and
more before the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture on
Monday and throughout the week.

Agrizzi’s affidavit claims among others that Gavin Watson made payments
to Zuma, suspended deputy national director of public prosecutions
Nomngcobo Jiba and special director of public prosecutions Lawrence
Mrwebi in return for their protection from prosecution.

According to the affidavit, Zuma received a R300,000 monthly
payment. Bosasa also paid Jiba and Mrwebi R100,000 and R10,000 a
month respectively, Agrizzi will claim.

Agrizzi took to the stand on Wednesday and has revealed bombshell after
bombshell as he related years of corruption at the Krugersdorp facilities
management company.

He is expected to drop more bombshells at the Zondo Commission on
Monday, including how former SAA chairperson Dudu Myeni – whose
name has already turned up in proceedings – was paid monthly bribes; and
how current Environmental Affairs Minister Nomvula Mokonyane allegedly received cash gifts in exchange for work.

Mokonyane allegedly received gifts including lavish Christmas parties
sponsored by Bosasa, upgrades and security systems installed at her home,
and she facilitated Bosasa’s sponsorship of birthday parties for Zuma and
other ANC functions.

A spokesperson for Mokonyane told the Sunday Times that the minister
knew of Bosasa thanks to the company’s social investments in the West
Rand, but denied the allegations as “devoid of truth”.

“The minister is not aware of any testimony before the commission that is
basis for such allegations, nor has she been advised by the commission of
such allegations being made against her. As and when the allegations are
presented before the commission, she is committed to respond,” the
newspaper quoted Mokonyane’s spokesperson, Mlimandlela Ndamasa, as
saying.

Both Jiba and Mrwebi have denied the allegations.

Zuma’s spokesperson Vukile Mathabela was unavailable to comment.
