VETERAN actor Patrick Shai has died in Dobsonville, Soweto, according to a family representative, who released a statement confirming the news on Saturday morning.
Details around his death are yet to be revealed
“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of the veteran actor Ntate Patrick Shai. He passed away this morning (January 22 2022). We sincerely ask you to give the family time to process this painful loss. More details will be shared in due course,” read the family statement.
Shai is best known for the roles in Generations, Soul City and Zero Tolerance.
In 2019, the actor was caught in the crossfire between police and residents in Dobsonville.
Last week, Patrick came under fire for using inappropriate language in a video posted on social media, when he challenged rapper Cassper Nyovest to a boxing match.
On Tuesday, he released a public apology to the rapper and everyone affected by his remarks.
