BAFANA Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Motjeka Madisha has died following a horror car crash in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.
The 25-year-old car accident took place on Saturday night, just hours after his team hosted a gala dinner.
The Ekurhuleni Disaster Management officials confirmed the football star’s horror crash.
“It happened around 02:00 at Zuurfontein Road, Chloorkop next to ABC Auto parts. A scene of accident of a white BMW… Two occupants in the car were burnt and one of them was beyond recognition and were certified dead by Ekurhuleni Emergency Services,” the police said.
This is the second loss by The Brazilians, who just recently laid former right-back Anele Ngcongca to rest following a car accident in Durban last month.
Madisha was capped 13 times by South Africa on the back of becoming an established first choice centre-back in a Sundowns team that has been among the strongest in Africa during the past five years.
Known as ‘The Brazilians’, they won the 2016 CAF Champions League and have been semi-finalists once and quarter-finalists twice since.
Sundowns won the Premiership-FA Cup-League Cup treble in South Africa last season and are top of the table after six rounds of the new league campaign.
