Football supporters who missed out on tickets for Saturday’s sold-out MTN8 final will still be able to experience the Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns showdown together when eThekwini Municipality hosts a free public viewing area (PVA) at the Bay of Plenty on Durban’s beachfront.

The public viewing will take place at Bay of Plenty Marine Parade on Saturday, with gates opening at 12h00 ahead of the 18h00 kick-off.

The municipality said entry to the PVA would be free, with the venue expected to accommodate up to 5,000 supporters and close at 22h00.

The initiative comes as anticipation builds for the MTN8 final at nearby Moses Mabhida Stadium, where Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns will battle for the first domestic cup trophy of the season.

The final is already sold out, with the Premier Soccer League confirming that all tickets have been snapped up.

The match will kick
