The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has set the testimony of controversial North West businessman Suliman Carrim to next month, ruling that he must appear and testify in person unless an independent medical specialist confirms that he is medically unable to do so.
Handing down the ruling on Wednesday afternoon, Commission Chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga said the commission had considered the written papers and oral arguments before setting strict conditions for any further postponement.
“The hearing of Mr. Carrim’s evidence is postponed to 14 August 2026 at 9.30 in the morning, at which hearing Mr. Carrim shall be required to appear and testify in person,” Madlanga ruled.
