THE Director-General of Public Enterprises Kgathatso Tlhakudi has been placed on precautionary suspension with immediate effect until his disciplinary process is completed.

Tlhakudi’s suspension comes at the instruction of Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola and was announced by the department on Friday.

This follows a complaint laid against Tlhakudi with the Public Service Commission (PSC).

According to a statement, the matter was then investigated by an external investigator and the report was referred to Presidency for consideration.

“The matter was investigated by an external investigator and the report was referred to the Presidency for consideration,” Department of Public Enterprises said in a statement.

“In accordance with normal government protocol, the president has delegated the matter to the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola, for further processing in accordance with the Senior Management Service Handbook.”

Deputy director-general Jacky Molisane is expected to act as DG during Tlhakudi’s special leave.
