SOUTH African hip hop artist DJ Dimplez, real name Tumi Mooi, has died.
The DJ family confirmed the death in a statement sent out on social media.
“It is with deep sadness that the Mooi family announces the untimely passing of Boitumelo Athiel Mooi, popularly known as DJ Dimplez. He passed away on March 6, 2022 from a sudden brain haemorrhage.”
The family asked for space to process their tragic loss.
He is credited as the founder of the Pop Bottles event series.
DJ Dimplez is also the creator of popular South African hip hop songs like We Ain’t Leaving featuring Anatii and L-Tido, Way Up featuring Cassper Nyovest and JR and Yaya featuring DreamTeam and Anatii.
