The stage is set for one of the biggest rugby clashes of the year as the Springboks prepare to face the All Blacks at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday in the opening Test of the highly anticipated Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series.
Kick-off is scheduled for 17:10, with the encounter bringing together two of international rugby’s heavyweight nations at a venue steeped in history.
For the Springboks, this is about far more than simply adding another victory over their oldest rivals.
It is the opening chapter of a four-Test battle against New Zealand, with the series marking the All Blacks’ first full tour of South Africa in 30 years.
South Africa enter the contest with plenty of confidence.
The world champions have won five of their last six meetings with New Zealand, including a record-breaking 43-10 victory in Wellington last year.
