AWARD-WINNING actor Menzi Ngubane, popularly known for playing villain Sibusiso Dlomo on SABC1 soapie Generations, has died at the age of 57.
In a statement, the family of the veteran actor said the TV and film star died at home from a stroke.
“As a family we wish to thank everyone for their continued and sustained support and the prayers for our beloved son whose battle with kidney failure and sugar diabetes had become an open secret over the years. We wish to mourn the passing of our beloved son in private and will communicate the funeral and other arrangements in due course,” a family spokesperson said.
Ngubane was a much-loved character on popular television dramas such as Ashes to Ashes, Yizo Yizo and Isibaya.
The 56-year-old had a long career and was well-known for playing villains with relish.
