Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, tables the State Security Agency (SSA) budget vote at the Good Hope Chambers, outlining South Africa’s strategic intelligence priorities for the year ahead.
The presentation unpacked a comprehensive overhaul of the country’s security architecture, with reforms aimed at strengthening institutional resilience and addressing emerging threats.

The budget vote will look into fast-tracking the rollout of the General Intelligence Laws Amendment Act (GILAA) to restructure intelligence branches and reinforce the independence of the Inspector-General of Intelligence.
It also looks into aligning state intelligence structures under a unified operating framework to improve coordination.
